Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marari-In Shrine Location Gate

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marari-In Shrine Blocked: How to Get Past Gate

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Marari-In Shrine can be frustrating to reach because the passage to it is blocked by a wooden gate. It’s already a bit tough reaching Eventide Island Cave in TotK either by paragliding or swimming, so it can be confusing as to why you can’t access the shrine. It’s possible to get around this by building a massive structure to get past the gate, but there’s a more straightforward method to get through. Here’s how to enter the Marari-In Shrine and claim the Light of Blessing inside in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to open gate and reach Marari-In Shrine

Opening the gate to reach Marari-In Shrine requires that you complete the “Seeking the Pirate Hideout” quest given by Sesami who is around coordinates 4508, -3505, and 0000.

As the name of the quest suggests, Sesami wants Link to clear out three pirate hideouts on Eventide Island. This shouldn’t be too hard so long as Link has had a few hearts and stamina upgrades as well as some comparable weapons by this point in your playthrough. There are also a lot of Zonai remnants and materials on the island that you can use to make part of the quest easier.

Once you’re smashed the outposts to dust, Sesami will then say that he saw a pirate ship go around the island and into the tall mountain. This is when the wooden gate finally opens, allowing you to get to the Marari-In Shrine.

That said, the pirate are now blocking the way and fighting off all of them on the ship can be tough too. If you have the Bokoblin mask from Koltin by collecting just one Bubbul Gem, you can avoid combat here altogether. Either way, the entryway to the shrine can only be reached by fusing several planks together using the Ultrahand.

After that, you can easily activate the Shrine and earn the Light of Blessing. You’ll also find a chest with a ruby inside for your efforts.
