Lies of P release date
The Lies of P release date is Tuesday, September 19, 2023. It’ll arrive on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on that date. It’s available for pre-order right now, and will also get a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass, which is an excellent value for such an anticipated title.
The game was originally slated to launch in August 2023. However, Round8 Studio announced that it would delay the game by a month to allow for polishing. Fortunately, the release of a demo helped soften the blow of that news, and you can experience the first couple of hours of the game right now on all platforms.
Lies of P story
The story of Lies of P draws its inspiration from the Italian novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi. This tale offers a stark contrast to the idyllic rendition of Pinocchio as depicted in the popular Disney movie. Instead, Collodi’s book is riddled with bizarre, often terrifying, creatures and inexplicable occurrences, an atmosphere that is skilfully mirrored in the game.
In the game, you take on the role of Pinocchio, not an innocent wooden puppet, but a sophisticated prototype automaton imbued with artificial consciousness. Pinocchio finds himself mysteriously awake in a desolate train station in the heart of the city of Krat. This city, once brimming with human activity, is now a haunting husk of its former self.
In a bizarre turn of events, the docile automaton dolls, which were designed to be devoted servants to their human masters, have undergone a terrifying transformation. They’ve descended into madness, turning on the people they once served and committing a horrific massacre.
As Pinocchio, your primary objective is to navigate through the unsettling chaos and locate your creator, Geppetto. What drives Pinocchio is more than a quest for survival; it’s a longing for humanity. His journey becomes an existential odyssey as he battles rogue dolls and faces numerous trials in his quest to find Geppetto and achieve his ultimate dream of becoming an actual human.

It doesn’t seem as though a Switch version has been planned, nor is the game coming to mobile platforms. However, the demo is compatible with the Steam Deck, so we assume the full game will be as well.
