Only Up: How to Play & Download on PC

The Only Up game has been a hit on Twitch and other streaming platforms and is now available to play and download on PC. Only Up is an indie game developed and published by SCKR Games that released on May 24, 2023. As a platformer, the objective is fairly simple: make your way up as high as you can, hopefully without missing a jump and falling all the way down to the ground. Here’s how to play and download the surprise hit Only Up for PC.

How to download and play Only Up on PC

Only Up is fairly simple to download and play on PC. All you need to do is follow the steps below:

  1. Head to the Only Up’s official game page on Steam
  2. Purchase the game (it’s $9.99 USD at the time of writing)
  3. Once your purchase has been confirmed, you can download the game automatically or by selecting it in your Steam Game Library
  4. You can then play the game through Steam

At the moment, the only official controls available for the game are keyboard and mouse with WASD for basic movement. There’s no way to change these settings through in-game options, and there is no controller support, which may be frustrating if you’re looking for more precision with your jumps.

If you really want to use a controller, though, you can head to the game’s Properties by right-clicking on it in the Steam Game Library. Navigate to the last option and enable Steam to override the normal controls with the game with controller input instead.

Through several updates and hotfixes posted in June 2023, the developers have rebalanced the game in a few notable ways. In particular, players have more control while falling, allowing you to land on a safe object instead of losing all your progress. It’s also easier to cling to an object to prevent a fall. A first-person mode, activated by holding down the ‘C’ key, can be activated for a better camera angle, and you can finally center the camera by pressing ‘1’.
