Diablo 4 Season 1 What Carries Over Progress Renown

Diablo 4 Season 1: What Progress & Renown Carries Over?

Diablo 4 Season 1 is arriving in late July, but there’s a lot of confusion as to what progress and renown carries over to the start of the first season. Much of the progression that you’ve earned in the Eternal Realm will carry over to each season, but a lot will not. You will need to repeat quite a lot when the first season arrives. Here’s a breakdown of what carries over and what doesn’t in Diablo 4 Season 1.

What carries over in Diablo 4 Season 1?

The following progress will carry over in the first season of Diablo 4:

  • Waypoints to Major Cities – This means the capitals for all five regions of the map, including Kyovashad, Cerrigar, Gea Kul, Ked Bardu, and Zarbinzet. All the other waypoints will need to be reclaimed to gain the associated renown.
  • Altars of Lilith – All of the altars you grabbed will be completed, meaning that you get all of the renown, paragon points, and maximum obol capacity from nabbing them.
  • Map Exploration – Every area of the map that you have explored will also carry over, along with the associated renown.
  • Skip Campaign Option – If you’re already finished the story, you can skip it once again with your seasonal character.
  • Mounts – Along with being able to skip the story, you will still have access to your horse, which you unlock normally through a side quest near the beginning of Act 4.

Altogether, if you have maxed out all of the renown in each region already, you’ll gain enough renown to complete the first two tiers in each region for seasonal play.

You’ll need to repeat the strongholds, side quests, and dungeons in order to earn enough renown to gain the extra skill points and paragon points. You’ll also need to do the dungeons over to gain each associated aspect. Blizzard has acknowledged through its Fireside Chats that the devs understand they can only ask players to repeat the same quests so many times before each season becomes too repetitive.

As for the stash, you will need purchase the tabs all over again and it will start completely empty. After the season is over, all items in your seasonal stash will transfer over to your normal stash.
