Diablo 4 Character Slots Bug Character Can't Move

Diablo 4 Character Slots Bug Fix: How to Move Characters on Login Screen

A frustrating Diablo 4 characters slots bug is preventing players from moving their characters around on the login screen. This particular glitch is impacting players mainly on PC. It’s also a new bug, as those with a keyboard and mouse used to be able to move and organize their characters along the lefthand side of the character selection screen. If you have a lot of builds or want to make it easier to select the seasonal characters, this can be annoying. Fortunately, there is a workaround that you can try to fix the problem with character slots in Diablo 4.

It doesn’t particularly matter which controller you use. We confirmed that you can fix the problem by using an Xbox controller, which then triggers the option on the character select screen of selecting “Edit List Order”. This will allow you move the characters lots up and down on the list. You should be able to use PlayStation controller or third-party controller as well as a solution to this bug.

We also confirmed the bug with testing. Typically, you can hover over the characters on the list, which brings up a sorting tab to the right side of the character’s name. You can then hold and drag the name up and down as you so choose.

It’s unclear whether Blizzard will address this bug in the next patch or hotfix, as there has been no official mention from the developers on the official Diablo 4 forums or the official Diablo 4 Twitter. Considering the vast number of changes that will coming with Patch 1.1.1, it may take a while before their attention can be turned to fixing this bug.
