Baldurs Gate 3 What to do if Astarion Drinks too much blood

Baldur’s Gate 3: What to do if Astarion Drinks Too Much Blood and Kills Your Main Character

At a certain point in Baldur’s Gate 3, Astarion will ask to drink your blood. If you allow him, there is a chance of letting him go too far, which can result in your main character’s death. However, instead of a game over, you’ll be in control of another character when the night is over. So, if Astarion kills your party leader, do you need to reload, or is there a way to bring your party leader back to life?

Can I bring my character back to life if Astarion kills them in Baldur’s Gate 3?

If Astarion kills your party leader by drinking too much blood in Baldur’s Gate 3, you can bring them back to life. All you need to do is use a Scroll of Revivify on them, and they’ll pop back up with one hp.

However, in my game, I found that in certain campsites (like the Blighted Village blacksmithy), the pack on the ground will clip through your main character’s body, which makes them difficult or impossible to target with the scroll. Unfortunately, this soft locks the game for you if you don’t want to continue on without your main.

Fortunately, there’s no lasting effect from your main character being drained of their blood. Other than being irritated at Astarion, things continue as normal.

What happens if you don’t let Astarion drink your blood?

Astarion won’t die or leave the party if you don’t let him drink your blood in Baldur’s Gate 3. He’ll mope a bit, but if you refuse him completely, he’ll just go hunt an animal and show back up when the party awakes. He still gets his new vampire skill, and the only thing you miss out on is an instance of approval from him.

Alternatively, you can banish him from the party or stake him, which kills him permanently.
