Madden 24 PC Performance Issues: How to Fix Laggy FPS, Stuttering, and Crashing

Many players are reporting Madden 24 PC performance issues. If you are experiencing stuttering, freezing, and laggy framerate, you’re not the only one. In particular, people are experiencing FPS drops every time the ball is snapped and when they try to play online modes, as if the game goes into slow motion. Fortunately, there are several solutions that you can try to increase stability by going through the game’s graphical settings. Here’s what you can do to fix any PC performance issues with Madden 24.

How to fix Madden 24 PC performance issues

The following are some graphics settings that you can change to help with PC performances issues for the game:

  • Lock the max FPS to 120, especially if your monitor has a refresh rate above 120 Hz
  • Turn off any camera blur options
  • Toggle off lens flare and bloom
  • Turn down the crowd quality to Medium
  • Change power plan to Ultimate performance
  • If you have a Nvidia GPU, try turning down adaptive V-sync in your Nvidia Control Panel

Out of these solutions, capping the FPS and lowering the crowd quality has increased performance the most, so we recommend trying these two solutions first.

It’s unclear whether these performance issues are due to the PC port of the game being poor or if there’s some bugs and glitches that have yet to be addressed by Electronic Arts. Unfortunately, it seems that these issues are impacting users on a wide variety of rigs, as indicated by the community on Reddit who have had early access to the game through the EA Play subscription service.

If you do have access to the 10-hour trial for Madden 24, we recommend you try that first before buying the game outright. Hopefully, a day-one patch for the game will help solve many of these problems. You may also want to try the Xbox Series X|S or PS5 versions of Madden 24 instead.

As reported earlier this year, Madden 24 sales and performance will allegedly decide the fate of developer EA Tiburon and the game’s Franchise Mode will include mini-games and training camp.
