The big tower puzzle in Immortals of Aveum is quite a tease. It’s sitting tall in Greyveil Plaza right next to one of the main gates in Lucium. It seems impossible to solve, but there is a trick. Here’s the Lucium column puzzle solution in Immortals of Aveum.

First off, do not attempt the tower puzzle at the above spot on the map until you have cleared the chapter called “The Binding Mark,” which is just over halfway through the game. This mission is going to give you the Refract augment for your Disrupt laser, which is key to solving this puzzle. You can solve the puzzle anytime after that.

You need that upgrade because the main goal is not to light up all three gems on the central tower at the same time (it’s impossible), but to refract lasers into each pair of eyeball-like gems separately. You’ll need to do this using the small pillar that has a hand holding a crystal on it, as seen in the first picture in the above gallery. There are three colored switches around the tower, as shown in the second picture, which you’ll need to use in order to get the hand crystal into the right place.

First, line up one of the colored gems on the central pillar. As seen by the gem directly on the column in the above picture, the blue gem is in the right spot. You can get it in the correct place by shooting the dim side of the stone on the protruding arm with that color of magic, as shown by the second picture in the above gallery.

Next, use the lever that corresponds to the lit up gem. For the blue one, it’s the one that’s directly in front of the gate and not either of the two that are off to the side. Hitting this switch will get the hand holding the crystal to where it needs to be for that gem.

After the crystal on the hand has moved into position, use the Disrupt laser (left on the D-pad, then L2/LT) and aim the laser into the corresponding eyeball crystals. The blue ones are near the top of the big gate (and the other two are in the slideshow below). The eyes will glow white when the right laser hits them if done correctly.

To get the full column puzzle solution, repeat those simple steps for each color. If one of the arms won’t move, simply go shoot the rock of the arm blocking it to clear a path.

Once all three are done, the tower will sink into the ground a Shroudfane will spring up. It has an extremely challenging boss fight inside against Azza-Kel, who is one of The Six.

Immortals of Avenum Lucium Column Puzzle FAQ

Q: How do I start solving the tower puzzle in Lucium in Immortals of Aveum?

A: Before attempting the tower puzzle in Greyveil Plaza, ensure you’ve completed the chapter “The Binding Mark.” This chapter provides you with the Refract augment for your Disrupt laser, which is essential for this puzzle.

Q: What’s the primary objective of the Lucium tower puzzle?

A: The goal isn’t to illuminate all three gems on the central tower simultaneously. Instead, you need to refract lasers into each pair of eyeball-like gems separately using the small pillar with a hand holding a crystal. Three colored switches around the tower help position the hand crystal correctly for each gem.

Q: After aligning the colored gems, what are the steps to solve the tower puzzle?

A: Once a colored gem on the central pillar is lined up, shoot the dim side of the stone on the protruding arm with the corresponding magic color. Next, use the lever matching the lit gem to position the hand holding the crystal. Then, use the Disrupt laser to aim the laser beam into the matching eyeball crystals. When done right, the eyes will turn white. Repeat these steps for each gem color. After solving all three, the tower descends, revealing a Shroudfane with a boss named Azza-Kel.
