Starfield Dream Home Trait Worth Taking Getting

Starfield Dream Home: Is This Trait Worth Getting?

The Starfield Dream Home is one of many traits that you can select during character creation. But since you can only pick up to three traits for a character, you might want to know whether it’s really worth taking, especially compared to other traits, like the Empath or Hero-Worshipped trait, that could have more impact on the gameplay. As described, the Dream Home trait has you own a luxurious, customizable house (minor spoilers below on what it looks like) on a peaceful planet that comes with a 125,000 credit mortgage with a weekly payment. That’s quite a lot to be saddled with right at the beginning of the game. So here’s whether it’s worth getting the Dream Home trait in Starfield.

Is the Starfield Dream Home trait worth taking?

Yes, the Starfield Dream Home is worth taking if you care a lot about housing.

You’ll gain access to the Dream Home after completing the first main story quest called One Small Step. A notification that you can visit your Dream Home will pop up; in our case, this home was on the planet Nosoi, which was just a hop and a skip from New Atlantis.

The dream house is indeed a beautiful home. It was a two-story house, 2 bedroom and 2 bath, with a large kitchen with a Cooking Station, two wide open areas on the first floor, another living room on the second floor, and a large patio also on the second floor. Compared to other housing options in the game, like the 230,000 credit penthouse in Neon, this had more than four times the space.

More Starfield

Yes, 125,000 credits does sound like a lot, and it is at the beginning of the game. But so long as you collect guns and equipment from enemies, that’s not a difficult sum to accumulate within about 10 hours of gameplay.

You’ll need to get 125,000 credits to pay off the mortgage in full at Galbank in New Atlantis. To access the home, you need to pay 500 credits at the front door on a weekly basis, which isn’t a lot really. These 500 credits will not pay down the mortgage since it goes to the interest on the loan and not on the principal. Either way, owning a gorgeous home like this is well worth the price. Just be sure that decorating it is something you want to do after you consider New Game Plus.
