Starfield Experience Points How to Get XP Fast

Starfield: How to Get XP and Level Up Fast

Gaining Starfield experience points is a slow process. After level 10 or so, it can take a long time to gain enough XP to level up, but there are some ways to gain XP fast. The only way to earn skill points is to earn a level, so it makes sense that players want to level up quickly. Fortunately, there are ways to accelerate XP gain and methods to earn a lot of experience points beyond normal exploration throughout the stars. Here are some ways to level up quick in Starfield.

How to get Starfield XP fast

The following are several strategies that you can use to gain XP fast:

  • Defeat creatures on planets – The fastest way to gain XP is to find a world with creatures you can kill in a system that is around your level or over your level.
  • Go after Temples and Scanner Anomalies – After finding an Artifact, you can speak with Vladimir to find its associated Temple in a Scanner Anomaly region of a planet. Head there and complete the Temple to gain 150-200 XP each.
  • Gain the Well-Rested buff – Resting in a bed, for even just one in-game hour, will get you a XP gain buff for a limited time. If you are able to marry a companion, this buff will be upgraded to the Emotional Security buff that has further XP gain.

The Scanner Anomaly areas will also have gravitational anomalies that you can scan for 100 XP each. You’ll gain some XP for going to a new planet and for killing the Guardian at a Temple as well. Given that you’ll likely want to find the Temples anyway, this is a good way of leveling, especially in new game plus.

That said, killing creatures on high-level planets is still faster. So long as you have the ammo reserves (or you’re using a melee or unarmed build), you can continue defeating enemies at Level 30-50. Killing these enemies will net you about 30 to 80 experience points each. This is very high compared to completing side quests that usually only get you about 100 to 350 XP.
