Fae Farm Cross Platform Crossplay Multiplayer PC Switch

Fae Farm Cross-Platform: Does It Have Crossplay Multiplayer?

The Fae Farm cross-platform feature is something that fans want to know about. The game has a multiplayer option where you can help a friend in co-op, but Fae Farm is currently out for both PC and Nintendo Switch. Given that the slice-of-life farm simulation genre is fairly niche, it would be great if the game had crossplay so that there are enough people to make the multiplayer worth investing in. There’s also a chance that players can do local co-op, so that kids and their parents can work on a farm together. Here’s whether Fae Farm has cross-platform paly.

Is Fae Farm cross-platform?

Yes, Fae Farm is cross-platform between PC and Nintendo Switch. You can share adventure with other players through multiplayer.

The cross-play feature has been verified by a member of developer Phoenix Labs on an official FAQ thread in the game’s Steam discussion forums. For this to work, though, all players who want to be a part of the multiplayer session need to create a free Phoenix Labs account, which you are prompted to create when you start the game for the first time. A Phoenix Labs account is not required if you’re only going to play the Fae Farm solo.

More Guides

You can play Fae Farm either online or in local co-op using the ad-hoc wireless feature, namely through Steam Remote Play Together. You will have multiple save options for different playthroughs with different friends.

For clarity, when you enter another player’s host world, you will not be able to carry your character from your world. You’ll need to start a new character from scratch. That might be disappointing, but this is to make sure that high-level characters can’t simply barrel through another player’s world with fully upgraded tools and weapons. This basically works in a similar fashion to how Stardew Valley’s multiplayer works.

At the time of writing, Fae Farm is not slated to release on Xbox and PlayStation platforms. But we imagine that if Phoenix Labs does decide to port the game over to these consoles, it will bring the crossplay feature over as well.

Fae Farm Cross-Platform FAQ

Q: Does Fae Farm support cross-platform play between PC and Nintendo Switch?

A: Yes, Fae Farm offers cross-platform play between PC and Nintendo Switch. Players can engage in multiplayer adventures across these platforms, provided they have a free Phoenix Labs account. However, you don’t need the account if you’re playing solo.

Q: How does multiplayer work in Fae Farm, especially regarding character progression?

A: While you can join another player’s host world in Fae Farm, your character from your personal world won’t carry over. You’ll have to start anew, preventing high-level characters from dominating with advanced tools and weapons. This multiplayer setup is similar to how it functions in Stardew Valley.

Q: Can I play Fae Farm in local co-op?

A: Absolutely! Fae Farm supports both online and local co-op. For local co-op, you can utilize the ad-hoc wireless feature or Steam Remote Play Together. This allows for varied playthroughs with multiple friends, each having different save options.
