The First Descendant Amorphous Material How to Get Find

The First Descendant Amorphous Material: How to Get Descendants Components

The First Descendant amorphous material is one of the main ways to get new characters. They are essentially in-game lootboxes where you have a chance of getting one of the four necessary ingredients to unlock a Descendant as a reward. The drop rate is unfortunately a bit low, so it will take quite a bit of grinding to gather enough amorphous material to obtain the Cells, Stabilizer, Code, and Spiral Catalyst for every character while the crossplay beta is going on. Here’s where you can find the amorphous material in The First Descendant.

How to get The First Descendant amorphous material

To earn the amorphous material, you will need to complete missions or Void Intercept battles, and hope that it drops as a reward.

Fortunately, you can head to the world map and hover over the icons for each mission to see whether there’s a chance that an amorphous material is part of the loot table. Apart from regular missions, there’s also a chance that a consecutive survival challenge, indicated by a diamond purple icon on the map, will also drop one of several amorphous materials.

Each amorphous material can drop different types of items. For example, during a prior beta for the game, the Amorphous Material 2 could drop the Freyna Catalyst Kit, Sharon Reinforced Cells Kit, the Jayber Relic Kit, or other materials. So you’ll need to examine the contents of all of the various amorphous materials to figure out where to get each component. Once you left-click or select the amorphous material, you’ll get one of the items from the table.

Unfortunately, though, there doesn’t seem to be percentage drop rate for each component in the amorphous material. But the rates shouldn’t be too bad given that Nexon likely wants to make sure that players can unlock all the characters during the beta.

That said, if you have enough premium currency, you can purchase some of these components from the in-game materials shop instead.

The First Descendant amorphous material FAQ

Q: How can I get amorphous material in The First Descendant to unlock new characters?

A: To gather the amorphous material, complete missions or engage in Void Intercept battles, then hope for it to drop as a reward. You can also check the world map, hovering over mission icons to see if amorphous material might be part of the potential loot. Additionally, a consecutive survival challenge, marked by a diamond purple icon on the map, might yield some amorphous materials.

Q: What types of items can I expect from different amorphous materials?

A: The amorphous materials vary in their content. For instance, during an earlier game beta, the Amorphous Material 2 might drop items like the Freyna Catalyst Kit, Sharon Reinforced Cells Kit, or the Jayber Relic Kit among other materials. To determine where to get specific components, inspect the contents of the various amorphous materials. When you choose an amorphous material, you’ll receive one item from its content list.

Q: Can I purchase the amorphous material components instead of relying on drop rates?

A: While you can’t directly buy the amorphous material with real money, if you have a sufficient amount of the game’s premium currency, you can buy some of these components from the in-game materials shop. This could be a quicker alternative, especially if you’re finding the drop rates for certain components to be low.
