Lords of the Fallen Vestige Seedlings: Should I Use or Save Them?

Lords of the Fallen Vestige Seedlings: Should I Use or Save Them?

The Lords of the Fallen Vestige Seedlings make for one of the game’s more unique mechanics. It lets players drop down their own checkpoints with a few asterisks. So should you use your Vestige Seeds or save them in Lords of the Fallen?

Should you save or use your Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen?

The question on whether you should use your Vestige Seedlings in Lords of the Fallen is dependent on you tolerance for backtracking, how many you have in stock, if you’ve already planted one, and where you are in the game. Lords of the Fallen is, like many of its genre peers, a tough game, so the reprieve and ability to recharge away from a regular vestige (a place with a fallen lampbearer) is invaluable.

But that does not mean players should drop a Vestige Seed every time the opportunity arises. The intro sections of the game, while still challenging, are not going to be as arduous as the sections down the line. For example, the first opportunity to plant a Vestige Seedling is perhaps not the most ideal place to use one since the trek to the boss is not that far from the regular vestige and is not full of hard enemies. It’s a mostly straightforward shot to the boss, Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal.

Because of this, it is likely better to survey the surroundings first before impulsively planting a Vestige Seedling, especially in the beginning. It also might be worth it to place one down and always keep at least one in your pouch if you don’t want to risk losing your progress, but Vestige Seeds aren’t always going to be available. It’s a balancing act you will have to weigh each time, so it’s worth it to always explore around first. Also keep in mind that you can only have one Vestige Seed planted at a time, so commit to an area you’ve planted one in unless you want to waste seeds.

How to get Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen

There are a few ways to get Vestige Seeds in Lords of the Fallen. One way is through beating certain bosses. For example, Scourged Sister Delyth, one of the earlier fights, drops one, as does the aforementioned Pieta. You can also buy them from Molhu once you make it to Skyrest Bridge. They are 2,500 “souls” (which are called Vigor in the game) apiece, so they won’t be cheap.
