Is Lords of the Fallen 2 Steam Deck Compatible?

Knowing the Lords of the Fallen 2 Steam Deck compatibility will give players the options to continue this rebooted soulslike on the go. It is already having issues on other platforms, so it is valid to wonder about the Deck. Here’s how Lords of the Fallen runs on Steam Deck.

How does Lords of the Fallen 2 run on Steam Deck?

As of launch, Valve has noted that it is “still learning” about the 2023 Lords of the Fallen’s Steam Deck compatibility and does not have an official stamp to put on it. That is not the most promising signal to send for the game, as many games at least launch with a “Playable” or “Verified” badge from the company.

And while an official judgment has not been handed down from the platform holder, early tests have not been put the game in the best light. It does not seem like players can get it to run at a smooth 60 frames per second, but putting the game low settings will at least make it more stable. Lords of the Fallen appears to top out at around 40 frames per second with the potential to dip rather heavily if it gets too hectic, as shown by tests from YouTubers Christo Gevedjov, Test Game, and Santiago Santiago. Santiago also noted that the game defaults to 50% resolution when running on Steam Deck.

Given these shortcomings and the game’s demanding specs, it is probably best to lock the frame rate to 30 when playing on the Deck. However, this handicap is likely going to turn a lot players off since Lords of the Fallen is a soulslike, a genre that demands precision. Lords of the Fallen is also a rather difficult title, too, even when considering other soulslikes so every frame matters.
