To get the rifle in Alan Wake 2 and find the doorknob, you first have to absorb the riddle that is on the Wellness Center computer. It reads:
“I’m a little doorknob that’s out of place. But solve these clues and you can trace the way to your private space. I meet you at the greet inside a bright glassy cage where pretty flowers bloom.”
This is a coy way to speak about the receptionist’s desk, which is just outside to the right of the security center in the ward reception. Go to the desk and start going toward the exit to the outside, but instead turn to the right and go through the wooden door.
