Alan Wake 2 Point of No Return: Can You Go Back to the World in the Post-Game?

Can you go back to the world after beating Alan Wake 2?

Alan Wake 2 Point of No Return: Can You Go Back to the World in the Post-Game?

You cannot go back into the open world after rolling credits in Alan Wake 2. Loading your most recent save will only plop you just a few minutes before the actual ending, which is the spot shown in the picture at the top of the article. You will be left unable to travel to any other parts of the Dark Place or Bright Falls and be without a chapter select to save you. You are stuck there and Remedy has not announced any plans to let players free roam after rolling credits.

Players will be notified of the point of no return while playing as Saga, which is at the end of Return 6: Scratch. After going head to head with Scratch after returning to the police station, you will get a prompt from Agent Kiran Estevez warning you that this is the last chance to save before barreling toward the endgame. The point of no return for Alan Wake’s half is at the end of Initiation 8: Zane’s Film, but this game does not notify you beforehand.

To get around this, you will have to stop at the end of Return 6: Scratch for Saga and then stop at the end of Initiation 8: Zane’s Film for Alan. Essentially, get to one point of no return and switch to the other character and then get to their point of no return in order to roam freely. If you get past a point of no return, you will be forced to switch and won’t be able to return to that character’s world, so be sure to keep some manual saves.
