FF7 Rebirth Skip Nibelheim Chapter 1

FF7 Rebirth Skip Chapter 1: Can You Skip Nibelheim Flashback?

Square made the promise that those who play through the FF7 Rebirth demo would be able to skip Nibelheim. However, many are confused when they’re unable to skip chapter one when the game starts. Fortunately, you can skip the first chapter of FF7 Rebirth, but you’ll have to wait a bit before you get the chance.

How to skip the Chapter 1 Nibelheim flashback in FF7 Rebirth

Before you can skip the Chapter 1 Nibelheim flashback in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you must have the game check your save data. To do so:

  1. Go to the FF7 Rebirth main menu.
  2. Select “Bonuses.”
  3. Choose to “Check Saved Data.”

If you’ve completed the Nibelheim demo, you’ll get the Kupo Charm and Survival Set and a note that you can skip the flashback in the main game.

However, before you can perform the skip, you must wait until the Nibelheim flashback begins in FF7 Rebirth to skip it. This means you have to start the game, walk to Kalm, and check into the inn. Once there, Cloud will begin the flashback. At this point, you’ll need to wait until you start climbing Mt. Nibel with Tifa.

Note that the skip will only take you some of the way to the end of Chapter 1. You’ll start just before the point the demo ends, during Sephiroth’s attack on the village. This significantly reduces the amount of time completing the chapter takes but doesn’t eliminate it entirely.

It’s kind of confusing that Square Enix requires you to play through a good 20 minutes or so of the game before the skip, but at least we have the option. Otherwise, you’d have to play around an hour or so of content you already experienced in the demo, which would be a boring intro for one of the year’s most anticipated games.
