Square Enix Teases A “Surprise” Console JRPG

Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda revealed to Nikkei Trendy, as translated by Gematsu, that there will be a "considerable amount of high-end games" from the company for this fiscal year.

"Starting with Final Fantasy XV," he continues, "we'll be putting out news for Japanese RPGs." He also teased a surprise in the form of "a JRPG for home game machine(s)."

In fact, Matsuda believes that Square Enix's approach this year is to be "a bot of surprises," which I believe to mean that they are going to announce Kingdom Hearts III and a few other projects.

On the docket already this year from Square Enix as publisher are Just Cause 3 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, an untitled Hitman game, and the Xbox timed-exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider. Square Enix has a large catalog for possible remastered games, with Type-0 HD being no exception, so I suspect another remaster to be announced this year as well.

What do you think Square Enix has in store this year?
