Ubisoft Reveals Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Details on a new Assassin's Creed set in Victorian London leaked last year, but now the game is official. Ubisoft hosted a livestream this morning revealing the next entry in the series, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.

The game takes place in London in 1868. The central city is just one of seven boroughs players can visit in AC: Syndicate. The new setting introduces new forms of transportation, which means carriages and trains will be used to get around the city. And yes, there are carriage chases in the game.

The rope launcher assists in more careful traversal. Players can shoot it vertically to quickly climb buildings or use it as a zip-line to circumvent large gaps in seconds.

AC: Syndicate still touts the series' classic stealth gameplay, but now the environment can be used to take out enemies. Protagonist Jacob also holds plenty of deadly weapons, such as brass knuckles and a revolver.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is scheduled to come for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23, while the PC release is listed as Autumn 2015.
