These Are All The New Skills Coming to Existing Jobs In FFXIV: Heavensward

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is just three weeks from release. While many players are most excited for the areas and classes that the expansion will bring, the addition of new skills to the existing roster of 10 jobs is perhaps equally as exciting.

 

Information regarding the new skills for existing jobs is beginning to trickle out. A user by the name of Susurrus on the Blue Gartr forums (follow him on Twitter) has been kind enough to put in the time and effort to figure out what many of the skills do and what they're called. So, now you can see how the job you play as will evolve going from level 50 to 60.

Now that you've seen what the skills look like, below you can find the names and descriptions of nearly every skill being added to the game. Keep in mind that this doesn't include information for the three new jobs which consist of Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologian, which you can read about more in the source document here.

 

Paladin

 
  • Royal Authority
    • Damage-only finisher from Savage Blade
  • Gore Blade
    • DoT finisher from Riot Blade
  • Divine Veil
    • Any cures received during the buff also gives a barrier to nearby party members
  • Sheltron
    • Guarantees the next attack will be blocked
    • Recovers MP
  • Clemency
    • Heals himself and party members
  • Adjustments to help boost defense for all party members.
  • Shield Oath given a 15% Accuracy Buff

Warrior

 
  • Deliverance
    • New DPS Stance
    • Raises Critical Hit Rate
    • Grants Abandon stacks
      • Switches to Wrath stacks if you switch to Defiance and vice-versa
      • Increases Critical Hit Rate furthur.
      • Same skills that grant Wrath stacks will grant Abandon stacks
    • Unnamed skill
      • Single Target Damage
    • Unnamed skill – Steel Cyclone style skill in Abandon
      • AoE Damage Skill
      • Costs 5 Abandon
  • Raw Intuition
    • Guarantee parry when attacked from the front, but guaranteed critical hit if received from the flank.
  • Equilibrium
    • Heals the Warrior.
      • Healed for 5000 HP at the Nantes Media Event.
  • Defiance given a 15% Accuracy Buff
  • Unknown Gifs: 1, 2
    • Raw Intuition and Equilibrium, but not sure which is which.

Dragoon

 

  • New Dragoon Limit Break seen in Benchmark
  • Blood of the Dragon
    • Allows use of a Dragon Claw, Tail Swing and Geirskogul
    • Increases effect of Jump and Spineshatter Jump
  • Geirskogul
    • Blood of the Dragon required
    • AoE
    • Decreases Duration of Blood of the Dragon
      • Decreases the duration by more than the initial length of Blood of the Dragon
  • Dragon Claw

    • Requires Greased Lightning III

Ninja

 

  • New Combo
    • Spinning Edge → Gust Slash → New skill
    • Extends Huton Duration

    • Enhances weapon skill damage
      • Either a single skill or duration, conflicting reports
  • Crossed Shadow
    • Transfers a large portion of the Ninjas enmity to the target
  • Smoke Ball
    • Reduces the target's enmity
  • Positional requirements added to several skills
 

Bard

 

  • Limit Break changed from Healing to DPS.
  • The Wanderer’s Minuet – New Song
    • Can be used at the same time as other songs
    • Gives Bard Casting times in exchange for more damage.
    • Disables Auto Attacks
    • Does not consume MP
    • Increases potency values by 25%
  • The Keeper's Paeon – New Song
    • Can be used at the same time as other songs
    • Buff to party members
    • Effect currently unknown
  • Iron Jaw
    • Minuet required to use
    • Refreshes DoT Durations
  • Sidewinder
    • Increases the potency of DoTs
  • Empyreal Arrow
    • Minuet required to use
 

Black Mage

 

  • Keeps the Meteor Limit Break
  • Ley Lines
    • 15% Haste, places a circle on the ground, if you move out of the circle, it disappears.
    • 30s duration, 90s cooldown
  • Sharpcast
    • 100% Proc on your next Fire, Thunder or Scathe cast
    • 10s duration, 60s cooldown
  • Enochian
    • Enables usage of Fire 4 and Blizzard 4
    • Initial duration of 30s, 90s cooldown
  • Fire 4 
    • Does not grant or extend Astral Fire
    • Can only be cast under Enochian
    • Must have Astral Fire I, II or III to Cast
  • Blizzard 4
    • Does not grant or extend Umbral Ice
    • Can only be cast under the Enochian
    • Must have Umbral Ice I, II or III to Cast
    • Extends the duration of Enochian, but the buff will be 5 seconds shorter than the previous Enochian

    • Summons Power of Bahamut
    • Gain stacks of Bahamut Aether

    • AoE that uses Aetherflow

    • Single target attack
    • May only be available during Dreadwyrm Trance (unconfirmed)
      • If not – using Ruin III while in Dreadwyrm Trance reduces its MP Cost (Confusing wording from source material)
  • Will receive a “Pet Glamour” system in the future to implement different egis rather than having separate egis with separate skills.
 

Scholar

  • Indomitability
    • AOE Heal
    • Aetherflow required to cast
  • Deployment Tactics
    • Gives Adloquium and Eye for an Eye to party members near the person they are casted on.
  • Emergency Tactics
    • Changes Adloquium from a shield to a pure heal
  • Dissipation
    • Consumes Eos or Selene for 50% extra healing potency
      • Currently overpowered, will be adjusted before release
  • Unnamed Spell
    • Non Elemental Magic attack
 

White Mage

 

  • Asylum
    • AoE Healing Regen Field
  • Assize
    • AoE that does Healing and Damage at the same time
  • Tetragrammaton
    • Instant Heal for 50% of target's health

    • Will Replace Stone II as main DPS skill
