Activision Announces Skylanders SuperChargers

Buy some toys, put them on a portal, and watch them come to life in a game. It's a simple formula that's made Activision billions of dollars, and the company plans to capitalize on that success with another entry in the Skylanders franchise.

Skylanders SuperChargers was announced earlier today. The game is being developed by Vicarious Visions and introduces vehicles to the series for the first time. Players will be able to use land, air, and water vehicles to traverse the environments in Skylanders SuperChargers. All vehicles can be upgraded as well.

The game features 20 new character toys and an additional 20 vehicles toys. Skylanders toys from previous games in the series will also be compatible with Skylanders SuperChargers, which results in quite a few pilot options for game.

Skylanders SuperChargers is scheduled to come out on September 20 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U. Activision also plans to publish unique Wii, 3DS, and iOS versions.

More details, including pricing information, can be found in our preview of the game.
