Fallout 4’s Lack of a Level Cap Is a Testament to Bethesda’s Ambition

Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that those who pick up Fallout 4 when it launches later this year will be able to continuing playing the game long after the main story concludes. Not only that, but there won't be a level cap imposed on upon players either.

The developer confirmed this exciting news in a post on Twitter, saying, "To our fans who’ve asked: Fallout 4 doesn’t end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling."

What does this say about Bethesda's post-apocalyptic open-world RPG? That it's absolutely massive (obviously), but also, and more importantly, that the studio is confident in its ability to keep players entertained long after they've poured hundreds of hours into exploring its sprawling landscape.

Better yet, we know the game is going to support mods on both Xbox One and PC, so you can be sure the studio expects dedicated fans to aid in the game's evolution post-launch. As such, I think it's safe to say that the Fallout 4 that ships on day one will look very different from the one that we see in a few years' time. I'm just glad Bethesda has the foresight to not put a lid on the creative potential of its hardest of hardcore fans.

Fallout 4 is slated for release on November 10. For more on this super ambitious open-world role-playing game, check out its stunning gameplay debut.
