Koei Tecmo Distances Itself From Sexism Concerns for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3

A representative for Koei Tecmo posted a controversial reason on Facebook for why Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, the notorious beach volleyball game featuring the fighting franchise's babes, won't be releasing in the US.

We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won't have any plan change in the future.

Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision.

Since then, Koei Tecmo wants to ensure fans that this wasn't the stance of the entire company, in a recent statement as released on its official Twitter account:

Fans of the franchise, of course, still want the game to be released in the States. The decision not to may not have anything to do with its portrayal of women in video games and has everything to do with sales figures, though having barely naked women in games is less of an issue in Japan and Asia than Western territories. At the end of the day, it's about the money, Lebowski.
