Dark Souls III Release Date, Collector’s Edition Detailed

Ready to die some more?

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware has announced that Dark Souls III will be released on April 12, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, in the same month as Quantum Break currently slated for April 5 and Star Fox Zero set for April 22.

The Day One Edition of Dark Souls III at $59.99 will include the game, the official DSIII soundtrack, an exclusive O-Sleeve packaging, and Prima Starter Guide. The Dark Souls III Collector's Edition at $129.99 will include all of those items, plus a cloth game map, collector's box, official art book, and a 10" Red Knight statue.

Both the Day One Edition and Collector's Edition will be exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game, so PC owners will be out of luck.

Dark Souls III takes influences from Bloodborne, asking players to rely more on rolls and dodging than protection with a shield, as described in our hands-on preview for the game.
