Tales of Beseria Stars Solo Female Protagonist With Werewolf-Like Powers

Bandai Namco revealed more information on Tales of Berseria, revealed earlier this year in June, at a closed-door event at the publisher's headquarters in Japan. This upcoming JRPG will star the first heroine in the "Tales of" series named Velvet, a mysterious woman with long black hair and a red-and-black outfit haphazardly held together by belts.

According to the press release, the game's world will be set in "a kingdom made of continents and countless archipelagoes" with advanced sailing technologies that are shown in the trailer embedded above. Velvet life's "took a complete turn after a certain incident work her up three years ago" and now she has become "an entity that greatly shocks the world."

To take an educated guess, the story will likely be about her becoming a monster and embracing the power behind the werewolf, given her gigantic red claw, but various holy knights see her as a threat and an evil meant to be purged.

Tales of Berseria is currently slated for a PS4 and digital PC release some time in 2016.
