Microsoft served a strong end to 2015 for Xbox gamers, rich with game releases, OS updates, and new features. Its been rewarded for it with a tremendous amount of sales, both in terms of hardware and software.
Microsoft has confirmed that each of its Fall 2015 releases have surpassed one million units sold. This includes Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, and even Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The popularity of these titles doubled engagement with Microsoft published titles in 2015 versus 2014, and all stand above an 82 Metascore.
Halo 5: Guardians won both our Best Multiplayer of 2015 award, in addition to Best Shooter. Meanwhile, Rise of the Tomb Raider won our Best Action-Adventure award, and Forza Motorsport 6 won Best Racing. Finally, Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider were nominated for our Game of the Year award, placing them in the top 10 games of the year.
Microsoft will carry its strong first-party line-up into 2016 where titles including Gears of War 4, Quantum Break, Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, ReCore, Sea of Thieves, and Gigantic await.
