The Xbox Games with Gold August lineup has been revealed. This month will see the addition of four new games that will be completely free for Xbox Live Gold members. The lineup feature two titles for Xbox One and two for Xbox 360. Starting in August, subscribers will be able to pick upGears of War 4, Forza 6, Torchlight, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. This is a nice mix of games and will help prepare players for the upcoming release of Gears 5.
Perhaps the biggest game in the Xbox Games with Gold August lineup is Gears of War 4. This is obviously becoming available to get fans pumped up for the September 10 release of Gears 5. Gears of War 4 is the first addition to the series to not be developed by Epic Games after The Coalition took over the series. The game takes place 25 years after Gears of War 3 and follows the story of J.D. Fenix and his friends as they try to save humanity. Gears of War 4 will be available for download from August 1 through 31 on Xbox One.

In addition to Gears of War 4, the second Xbox One game coming to the Xbox Games with Gold August lineup is Forza Motorsport 6. The Forza series has been running for a long time and always puts out solid games. So if you’re a racing fan, you can get your hands on Forza Motorsport 6 from August 16 through September 15.
There are two Xbox 360 titles (both are backwards compatible) coming to the August lineup of games. Starting things off is Torchlight, a hack and slash dungeon crawler that will force players to explore dungeons and pick up loot. Torchlight will be available from August 1 through 15. The second backwards compatible Xbox 360 title is Castelvania: Lords of Shadow and it will be available from August 16 through 31. This game follows Gabriel Belmont in his quest to resurrect his wife and defeat the Lords of Shadow.
