Goldberg Returns in WWE 2K17 as Pre-Order Bonus

The legendary Goldberg, the wrestler who dominated the WCW and WWE, will be making a comeback to WWE video games, at least as a pre-order bonus in the upcoming WWE 2K17. This was revealed on last night's Monday Night Raw and has been confirmed by 2K this morning.

The pre-order bonus will include two versions of Goldberg, one for his WCW persona and another for his WWE persona. To make the deal more enticing, this also comes with two extra arenas, WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc, where Goldberg faced off against Diamond Dallas Page as well as Sting for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the late 1990s.

If I had to put on my speculation hat, this might mean that we will also see a comeback of the historical modes that have been popular in several of the last few WWE 2K installments.

WWE 2K17 is slated for a worldwide release on October 2016 and, interestingly, will have versions for both current-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) and last-gen consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360). There are no plans for it to be shown at E3 2016, but we might still learn more news about WWE 2K17 then.
