Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Has Become the First PS4 Game To Support HDR

The official Deus Ex Twitter account has sent out a Tweet confirming that a new patch is hitting PS4, Xbox One, and PC today. The patch isn't large in size, but does have something special for PS4 fans.

The new patch, which is available at no cost, includes all the following:

  • HDR support
  • New breach content and features
  • Bug fixes and improvements

Although several Xbox One games have included support for HDR since the launch of the Xbox One S in early August, this is the first piece of software to ever include support on PS4.

In order to experience HDR on PS4, you will first need a PS4 Slim (or the future PS4 Pro). You will also need a compatible television. Lastly, you need a game that supports HDR. As of today, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the only game on PS4 with such support, although many more developers will be growing the list heading into late 2016.

HDR is said to produce highly favorable results for anyone looking for an improved visual experience. The technique provides a much greater range of color to be represented on-screen, producing more vibrant color and better color accuracy in the process.
