FFXV Flooded With One Star Reviews On Amazon Japan, Can You Guess Why?

Final Fantasy XV has been met with great reception, to a point where many are surprised. In-fact, it currently holds the highest Metascore (84) that the franchise has seen from its mainline games since 2006.

In the case of Amazon Japan's review section for FFXV, things don't look so bright. The game has averaged at one star with over a dozen negative reviews. The reason? Buyers were sent an Xbox One copy instead of PS4.

The buyers have a verified purchase, which means that the reviews won't be removed. Given the weight of review averages on Amazon when it comes to attracting a buyer's attention as well as search rankings, this is likely to affect sales.

One reviewer explained (translated using Google):

If you purchased the wrong that so many are, it is because there is a problem in the item title. It is what I want you to write [PS4] and the model forward to your head. To title a long time in the Toka accessories, Toka write an important model in the end, please be really improved.

It appears that a listing mishap resulted in buyers not being made aware that they were buying the game for a platform they didn't even own. That platform, the Xbox One, hasn't even sold 80,000 units in the region.

On Amazon's U.S. site the title holds four stars with 68% being five stars and 21% being one star. In this case, almost all of the one star reviews aren't verified purchases.
