Call of Duty: WWII Officially Revealed, Livestream To Take Place April 26th

[Update]: Looks like the folks at Activision got tired of letting the rumors swirl, and they unveiled a website with a countdown to the official Reveal Livestream of Call of Duty: WWII to take place on April 26 at 10 a.m. PST.

We still might get some sort of advertising before then, so keep your eyes peeled.

[Original Story]: Call of Duty fans have been anxiously awaiting more details about the upcoming World War II-focused entry in the wildly popular shooter series ever since its existence first leaked and was subsequently confirmed to the public. If rumors are true, they may not have to wait very long.

As reported by COD-focused website CharlieIntel, someone with apparent knowledge of GameStop's advertising, posted a notification they received that new marketing material for Destiny 2 and an "Activision Title" will arrive on Monday, April 24. Above the Destiny part is "APR24.END.DES." Above the Activision Title is "APR24.END.COD" (emphasis added).

Of course, COD paired Activision is an unmistakable reference to Call of Duty. Because the new marketing material is being sent to GameStop, this could also be when pre-orders for Call of Duty: WWII open up.

Other rumors have suggested that a trailer may come even earlier, which would make sense because GameStop is hardly ever the first outlet to get new trailers.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was the highest-selling game of 2016, but, despite that, it received mixed reviews, and folks at Activision still consider it a financial disappointment – that it should have made even more money. In their quarterly earnings report for Q4 2016, Activision stated that "it's clear the space setting just didn't resonate," and that the game was "not the success we planned."

But what exactly will this new, grounded combat look like, beyond the WWII setting? I guess we'll find out sometime between now and April 24th.
