The Simpsons Get Tapped Out In New iOS Game

Look at Homer! Workplace negligence never looked so fun! After 500 episodes, you'd think they'd already have their own "freemium" game, but maybe EA just had their own case of workplace negligence.

The games publishing giant has announced that The Simpsons: Tapped Out will lead the way for the company on iOS devices (and Android in a few months) in the Free-To-Play market. Taking nods from games like Tiny Tower, gamers will be able to enjoy the full game over the long haul, or pony up some dough to keep the chubby guy rolling in the short term.

That's essentially the basis of Tapped Out, which sees players helping Homer clean up Springfield (or… The Outlands) after a nuclear explosion demolishes the town and scatters the population. You'll be tasked with rebuilding the city and unlocking the cast who help you accomplish specific goals. Lisa helps Homer clean up the city, with the rest of the Simpsons following close behind.

EA also says that Duffman, Hans Moleman and many more characters will be added over time. The App is expected on the iTunes Store in the coming weeks.
