[UPDATE]: ACIII Revolutionary Setting Confirmed, Next AC Goes Colonial

[Update]

GameInformer has updated with their April Cover confirming the American Revolution setting for Assassin's Creed III.

[Original Story]

That pose, that outfit – it looks familiar. But we know Ezio and Altair never were around during the early days of America. And with a new Assassin's Creed announcement being teased for early next week, we'd put money down that the US of A is where the series will be heading to next.

This image with the new protagonist standing in front of the Betsy Ross flag was furnished by a Best Buy employee, who sent it to Kotaku.

But that's not the only evidence we have. Another keen-eyed watchdog from ToasterVision, caught a banner up on GameInformer's website showing this same assassin about to thrust his wrist blade into the back of one of our founding fathers.

With all of this evidence, look out for this to be made official very soon.

Tell GR: Does an assassin make sense in that era?
