The folks at Crystal Dynamics are already tasked with rebooting Tomb Raider in an origin story about the iconic Lara Croft. But a new rumor has surfaced that says the team is also working hard at another reboot for a long-dead franchise.
VG247 reports that Crystal Dynamics are developing a reboot of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, although they're not clear on details. In one breath they say the team at CD are doing "a full reboot of vampire series Legacy of Kain", then in the next they say it's just "Soul Reaver".
They're also not sure if it will be revealed at E3 or not, or whether it will feature Kain or Raziel (or someone else)… Talk about the worst rumor ever. Sounds like they need to find a new shady, anonymous source to hit up for info.
The only reason I'm reporting on this is because I know that there are a lot of people wanting to see more out of this series (I wanted to use that image above, too), and any glimmer of hope is welcome. But because the rumor is so lacking in details, it's best to keep excitement levels to a minimum.
