PSOne Game Leaks Onto Vita Section Of PlayStation Store

Dying to play PlayStation classics like Final Fantasy VII and Crash Team Racing on your sexy Vita hardware? Sony hasn't announced when the previously-promised PSOne support would be added to the new device, but we have the next best thing: evidence that it exists.

There's a game on the European PlayStation Store right now (but probably not for long) that is in the Vita section. The game in question is Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and while that might not sound too surprising, the kicker is that it's a PlayStation 1 title. Now, you might instantly call this a mistake but once the game is loaded on your system its LiveArea menu has a PlayStation 1 theme previously never seen (as viewable above in the header image).

Unfortunately, it appears that it was added pre-maturely and if you attempt to play the game on your Vita you will receive a "The file is corrupt" error. Chances are that the current firmware of the Vita supports emulation but it isn't activated yet. SHUCKS!

Sony – You know how badly I want to play Final Fantasy VI on my Vita. Please just spare me the agony!
