MotorStorm: Apocalypse is Getting the Tron Treatment

In the aftermath of the end of the world, there will be only one thing left for the few, unlucky survivors to do, and that's race. But fortunately they'll be doing it in style with a tricked-out, wicked awesome, Tron-ified car! Yes, even though MotorStorm: Apocalypse has had its release date pushed back, we're already hearing rumblings about some very cool DLC that will be making its way into the game soon after launch.

Along with the very sleek Tron-Mobile, racing fans will be able to download a Mode Editor, which will allow folks to make custom game types and distribute them amongst players all across the magical internet, much in the same way the Forge works in the more recent Halo games. If a player's create mode is any good, it just might make it onto the official leaderboards. And the best part is, it won't cost you a damn thing.

And if that wasn't enough to whet your whistle, they also revealed a prison-island level that may bear some striking resemblance to a certain Bay Area monument (*cough* *cough* Alcatraz *cough* *cough*). As with all the other levels, it features branching paths and tons of destruction and, just like the Mode Editor, it won't cost you a goddamn thing to pluck it off the internet.

MotorStorm: Apocalypse will be available on May 1st, 2011.
