There’s No Need to Fear, Blitzmensch Is Here in the Latest Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Trailer

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus’s genius marketing scheme keeps on rolling with the latest video to join the blitz, with a literal blitz. The newest trailer is a take on the classic live-action Batman series to hilarious effect.

Blitzmensch is a true German hero, and his TV show happens to be General Engel’s favorite. Blitzmensch and partner Fräulein Fox work together to keep the world safe from the likes capitalism, communism, and anyone who dares challenge the Reich. The evils of the world are no match for everyone’s favorite superhero.

This is the first video in a long line of advertisements created specifically for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, from fake game shows to manufactured take-offs on Lassie and Leave It to Beaver. You can even sing along with the theme song. “With the power of the storm! With the power of thunder!” Those guys’ voices really make the song, to be honest.

This week’s enemy, The Illegal Eagle, looks pretty hilarious. I wish there would have been some live-action scenes of the show and how it would have looked, because that would have been absolutely hilarious.

The end of the trailer, which consists mainly of a cartoony look at Blitzmensch, showcases some of the actual gameplay you can expect from the game when it finally releases this October 27 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Just try and get the catchy theme song out of your head. I’ve been trying, and it’s not happening.
