Xbox Live Games With Gold December 2017 Announced

The Xbox Live Games With Gold for December have been announced, and they’re pretty darn good. Xbox players who subscribe to Xbox Live Gold get four games per month for absolutely free. Sometimes they’re not worth downloading, but lately, we’ve received some quality titles.

Below you fine the Xbox Live Games With Gold free titles for December 2017 and a brief rundown of whether they’re any good or not.

What are the Xbox Live Games With Gold for December 2017?

This month you can download four titles for free if you have Xbox Live Gold. Two are for Xbox One, and two are for Xbox 360. However, both 360 titles are backward compatible with Xbox One, so give them all a try.

Xbox One December Games With Gold

For Xbox One you’ll get the chance to download Warhammer: Endtimes – Vermintide and Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition. These two titles will be available to download from December 16 to January 15.

Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide ($39.99 MSRP)

This game is a first-person shooter that is set in the Warhammer universe (not to be confused with the Warhammer 40K universe). It’s got a Left 4 Dead kind of feel and has four players teaming up to fight the Skaven. The Skaven are a race of giant, subterranean-dwelling, rat people who suck and want to kill everything that lives on the surface.

When you complete a match, you get the opportunity for each of the four players to roll a dice and receive a weapon as a reward. Vermintide’s narrative unfolds as you play the game, which is an improvement over Left 4 Dead. It also features dynamic AI which will spawn enemies at random to keep you on your toes.

Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition ($19.99 MSRP)

If you’ve ever wanted a second Back to the Future trilogy, Telltale’s game is the next best thing. The game hasn’t aged the best, it’s over seven years old at this point, but it does have an engrossing enough story to keep most interested. Christopher Lloyd lends his voice and likeness to Doc Brown, and Michael J. Fox allowed Telltale to use his image for Marty. Take a look at our Back to the Future: The Game review.

Xbox 360 December Games With Gold

The real treat of this months Games With Gold—at least to me—is Child of Eden, which will be available from December 1 until December 15. After that, players can download Marlow Briggs and the Mask of the Death from December 15 to December 31.

Child of Eden ($29.99 MSRP)

Did you know Rez had a prequel? Well, now you do. Child of Eden is Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s story of a girl named Lumi, who is the first girl born in space. The game plays similarly to Rez and deals with the creation of the digital world that Rez takes place in. Of course, a lot of this is learned from trippy and excellent musical numbers and tight shooter gameplay. Check out our review of Child of Eden.

Marlow Briggs and the Mask of the Death ($14.99 MSRP)

I’ve never actually played this game. It’s supposed to be some sort of hack-and-slash that plays similarly to God of War or Devil May Cry. It might be cool, and hey, it’s free.
