Epic Opens New Seattle Studio To Focus On Unreal Engine 4

Get ready, because the next generation of gaming is fast approaching. Epic Games is kicking it into high gear with development of Unreal Engine 4, as they have just announced plans to open a new studio in Seattle dedicated to working on the engine.

If you head over to their job listings page, you'll notice they're looking for talented individuals to work with the company's engineering team. According to Epic president Dr. Michael Capps, Seattle is the prime position for this new studio.“The proximity to key partners, the density of world-class talent and all the factors that make Seattle an attractive place to live convinced us that it is the perfect locale for Epic’s West Coast operation.” he said.

You'll be hard pressed to find someone who would deny the fact that Epic Games leads the industry in engine development. Capps and the rest of the team at Epic hope to continue that trend with Unreal Engine 4. “We are looking to hire even more of the best engineers around to contribute to Unreal Engine 4, which we believe is set to change the way we all make games."

Bring it on, Epic. My thumbs are ready.
