The Surge 2 Announced for PS4, Xbox One and PC

The Surge 2 has been announced, with Deck 13 working alongside publisher Focus Home Interactive to bring the sequel to life.

The original The Surge, released in May 2017, received favorable reviews and a relatively positive reception from gamers. Drawing comparisons to Dark Souls but taking place in a sci-fi setting, it seems that the game was popular enough to receive a follow-up, with the announcement being made on its official Facebook page today.

The announcement for the game reads:

“Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 are happy to announce the renewal of their partnership with the development of The Surge 2.

With larger and more ambitious level design, more brutal combat, and an expanded limb-targeting system, you’ll need the even larger arsenal and array of abilities to overcome the new enemies and bosses!

The Surge 2 releases on consoles and PC in 2019.”

Deck 13 was previously responsible for Lords of the Fallen, another Souls-like game which wasn’t particularly well-received on its release. With the announcement of The Surge 2, it seems that the developer won’t be working on Lords of the Fallen 2 in the near future.
