New AMD Drivers

New AMD Drivers Give Fortnite and PUBG a Performance Boost

New AMD drivers have been released, which should help squeeze out extra performance in PUBG and Fortnite. AMD announced the driver, which is named “Adrenaline Edition 18.2.2”, and provided a detailed list of patch notes, covering multiple different AMD graphics cards.

Any kind of performance boost in games like PUBG and Fortnite are definitely going to be appreciated. A bump up in frame-rate, or less stutter, will help players dish out more damage, while avoiding death themselves.

Find the list of “highlights” below, which is what the majority of players will want to know:

Support For

Fortnite

  • Up to 3% faster performance using Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.2.2 on the Radeon™ RX Vega 56 (8GB) graphics card than with Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 17.12.1 at 2560x1440p (1440p). RS-20
  • Up to 6% faster performance using Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.2.2 on the Radeon™ RX 580 (8GB) graphics card than with Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 17.12.1 at 1920×1080 (1080p). RS-208

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

  • Up to 5% faster performance using Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.2.2 on the Radeon™ RX Vega 56 (8GB) graphics card than with Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 17.12.1 at 2560x1440p (1440p). RS-207
  • Up to 7% faster performance using Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.2.2 on the Radeon™ RX 580 graphics card than with Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 17.12.1 at 1920x1080p (1080p). RS-209

While the improvements may be come across as pretty minor, it’s still good to see support for AMD hardware. For those who are still using graphics card for gaming, and not mining, then these new AMD drivers should help enhance enjoyment by about 3-7 percent.

The new AMD drivers also boost performance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, with the new release getting between 3-4% faster performance at 1080p/1440p. For the full details, head over to the AMD drivers release notes page.
