Luigi's Mansion Release Date

Luigi’s Mansion Remake for 3DS Announced at Nintendo Direct

Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo 3DS was announced at today’s Nintendo Direct. It’s hard to believe it, but it’s been seventeen whole years since the original Luigi’s Mansion came out on GameCube. The game was one of the launch titles for the GameCube and one of the few games that Luigi gets to be the primary protagonist in.

This remake is sure to be a great companion to the sequel to the original game, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon that released on Nintendo 3DS in 2013. So far, it looks like all the gameplay from the GameCube version is intact, and there are even some new additions.

The 3DS remake of Luigi’s Mansion will helpfully move the map to the bottom screen so you can always keep up with where you’re at. You can also play a Boss Rush mode and take on the game’s bosses one after the other.

A specific release date wasn’t mentioned during the Nintendo Direct, and we don’t have any launch window yet besides “2018.” It’s shaping up to be a busy year for the Nintendo 3DS, and with today’s announcements, it seems like the handheld has caught another wind.
