Fortnite Mobile on iOS

Fortnite Battle Royale Mobile Edition is Coming to iOS and Android with Cross-Play and Cross-Progression

Fortnite Mobile has been announced by Epic Games, and it’s more than we could have asked for. Fortnite Battle Royale Mobile Edition will be debuting on iOS and Android in the coming months, and according to the details provided, it doesn’t look to be neutered in any ways. The mobile versions of Fortnite seem to deliver the same gameplay and experience that players on PC and consoles enjoy already, which is a pretty incredible claim.

How to Sign Up For a Fortnite Battle Royale Mobile Edition Invite for iOS or Android

Epic Games is moving fast with Fortnite Mobile. Players on iOS can start signing up for the Fortnite Invite Event on Monday, March 12. On that day you can head over to the Fortnite website and enter your details. Sometime next week invite for the mobile version will start being sent.

If you get a Fortnite mobile invite, you’re golden. It will contain a link to download the game from the app store and then you can play. If you don’t get an invite even if you signed up, just be patient. The emails should be rolling out in waves over the next few months, so it might take a little while to get to you.

As a bonus, if you’re selected to get early access to the Fortnite Battle Royale iOS version, then you’ll get friend invite codes you can give out. That way your friends can join you on the battlefield.

Android users, unfortunately, will have to wait a little longer for news. For now, there isn’t any set a date for Fortnite Android version codes to go out other than “eventually.”

How Will Cross-Play and Cross-Progression Work with Fortnite Mobile Edition?

Cross-play and cross-progression for Fortnite will be coming to several platforms soon. PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android players can use the same account on multiple devices and pick up their character progression where they left off.

Additionally, all those devices will be able to cross-play Fortnite together. Strangely enough, the Xbox One is conspicuously missing from that list. Sony is usually adamantly against cross-play with other systems, so did they make a deal for console cross-play exclusivity? We know Fortnite for Xbox One can cross-play with other platforms, so there’s likely a reason behind its exclusion.

For now, there’s no definite release date for Fortnite on mobile. Those on iOS can look forward to early invites soon, with Android access coming in the next few months.
