Sega Genesis Collection

Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics Collection Will Bring 50+ Games to PS4 and Xbox One Soon

Sega Genesis Classics (Sega Mega Drive Classics for those outside the US) has been announced for the PS4 and Xbox One. This collection will bring over 50 of Sega’s hallmark titles to Sony and Microsoft’s consoles, with an interface that has previously only been available on Steam for PC. Additionally, the PC version (which prices games individual) looks to already have all of Sega’s classics bundled at a much-reduced cost.

Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics Collection: Emulation Enhancements

The release of this new collection will bring some improvements in emulation over what’s currently available on Steam. Online multiplayer will now be possible in addition to couch co-op, so you’ll have plenty of options for playing these classic titles with friends.

New trophies and achievements will be available in the Xbox One and PS4 releases of Sega Genesis Classics as well. For an added challenge, you’ll also be able to play each game in Mirror Mode, which will flip the screen horizontally.

The existing PC version will receive updates to bring it to parity with the console release so you’ll get the same experience no matter which platform you play on. However, there’s no word on whether mod support will come to PS4 or Xbox One as it is on PC.
