Overwatch Devs Accidentally Buff Hanzo’s Scatter Arrow

That’s right everyone, your favorite Overwatch hero Hanzo just got a buff to his scatter arrow! Wait, why are you throwing rotten fruit? Please stop. Jokes aside, it does indeed seem as though the Overwatch devs have in fact accidentally buffed Hanzo’s scatter arrow, making it much more effective than before. How, you may ask, have they managed to make Hanzo’s already overpowered ability that much more powerful? Well, instead of 10 seconds needing to pass before you can use the ability, the delay is now 8 seconds.

Hanzo’s scatter arrow ability can often lead to some funny moments depending on if you’re playing Hanzo, or the poor victim who dared get close to him when he has his ability ready. It has been known to instant-kill most squishy characters like Tracer and Sombra, but even if you’re playing a Tank you shouldn’t consider yourself safe. Yes, that’s right, even Orisa can die to a ricochet of arrows if she’s not positioned correctly. This fact has led to many fans demanding a nerf of Hanzo’s ability, so we’re positive that those fans are going to have a few things to say when they hear Hanzo’s ability has, in fact, been given the opposite treatment.

The sound of every non-Hanzo main screaming is sure to keep the Overwatch devs up for the next few nights. Or so you would think, but Overwatch’s lead designer, Geoff Goodman, took to the Overwatch forums to explain what happened and what the team would do to address it.  He confirmed what many fans thought, stating “as some people have guessed, this is an accidental change that came from his big changes coming next update.” This is a direct reference to the changes being made to Hanzo’s future kit.

Goodman further talked about the possibility of removing the buff, but there is “a chance we end up leaving it as-is for now, since we’re planning on releasing the next update fairly quickly anyway.” This may be upsetting for some fans, though we’re certain that the Hanzo mains out there are delighted to hear this. Though they better hurry and take advantage, as we’re unsure when the next update will be and ‘soon’ isn’t much to go on.
