Rumor: Forza Horizon 4 to be Set in the UK

Forza Horizon 4 could be set in the UK if a batch of files hidden in a Forza 7 update is to be believed. The files, uncovered by community member TheAdmiester, highlighted a slew of British cars set to be debuted in Forza Motorsport 7, pointing towards the location of the next Forza Horizon game.

While a bunch of the cars featured in the leak appeared in Xbox 360-era Forza games, with the images discovered by TheAdmiester (via GTPlanet) showcasing how they’re set to look in Forza 7. With Forza Motorsport 6 having previously added a whole bunch of Australian cars before Forza Horizon 3 was announced, the wide selection of British cars seemingly featured in this update suggests that Forza Horizon 4 could be set in London or another UK location.

New additions outlined in the leak include the McLaren Senna, which would mark the first time the hypercar has been featured in the series. The Peel P50, an odd-looking three-wheeled microcar, is also featured in the leak, a quintessentially British vehicle that will rival Forza Horizon 3‘s Ute.

As is the case with any leak, nothing has been confirmed by Microsoft, Turn 10 Studios or Playground Games, so these files may not hint at the foundations for Forza Horizon 4. However, the UK would certainly be an interesting location for the sequel, and would provide a completely different setting compared to the sun-kissed cities of Forza Horizon 3. The Forza series has always prided itself on its realistic weather effects, so Britain’s fleeting moments of sunlight mixed with its torrential rain could well provide for some interesting open-world racing.

Forza Horizon 4 hasn’t even been officially announced yet, though the smart money is on it being unveiled during E3 2018. We’ll have to wait until June to find out whether or not that will be the case.
