Fortnite Season 5 Teaser Image Counts Down the Days Until Launch

Epic Games has tweeted a Fortnite Season 5 teaser image, sending the community into overhyped chaos regarding the game’s upcoming period of new content and support. Even as a dedicated Fortnite player and news reporter, this new image doesn’t tell me very much. I see the rifts that have been appearing all over the map, which appear to link the game’s island to a different time or world. But then I also see the Fortnite pink panther skin character, which points in a different direction to the game’s Wild West and new desert map leaks.

Seen below, the Fortnite Season 5 teaser image shows an ancient pink panther character that, at least to me, looks like it belongs far into the past. It appears to be connected to the rift somehow.

I think it’s pretty clear that the Fortnite Season 5 teaser image points towards some kind of time travel. My guess is that we’ll first see a Wild West theme, which is what the recent leaks hint towards. After a period, we’ll then see the map move through time, with new characters and locations. It sounds like a lot of work for the developers, but I think this could be the next step for Epic Games to deliver something exciting and keep the hype flowing.

If it isn’t time travel, then maybe this Fortnite Season 5 teaser image is just an early preview at one of the Legendary skins. It’s possible that this image is meant only to get gamers hyped about buying a certain skin. I’ve no doubt that a lot of players would jump at the chance to buy this Fortnite pink panther skin, even for the 2,000 V-Bucks (~$20) that it would probably cost.

With only three days to go, we really don’t have long to wait until Fortnite Season 5 is fully revealed!
