Yoshida: We Can’t Promise The Last Guardian Will Launch By 2013

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida doesn't want to get fans' hopes up by revealing a launch window for The Last Guardian too early, as having to delay it again would just be cruel to PlayStation 3 owners. As such, the Worldwide Studios head can't say for sure that the game will be out by the end of 2013.

When French website JeuxVideo.fr asked Yoshida if he could confirm that the game would be out next year, he replied:

No, sorry, I can not say that … Because the last time we talked about a date for The Last Guardian, we finally disappointed many people. But I can tell you that the team is working hard on the project, including the engine. It is precisely because the teams working on the technical aspect of the game that we have nothing concrete to show you today. So now I'm waiting for the right time to introduce you to The Last Guardian and speak with confidence of a release date.

Is it just me, or is this game starting to sound more and more like a PlayStation 4 title? You would think after all this time the engine would be done by now, but if they're overhauling everything so it takes advantage of the Orbis, that would make a bit more sense.
