Red Dead Redemption 2 Character Cards Unveiled, Reveal Cast’s Personalities

Red Dead Redemption 2 is already being hyped up enough without Rockstar Games’ intervention. The renowned games studio has ramped up anticipation levels further though with the release of official character cards. Taking to its Twitter account, Rockstar posted a thread unveiling the core cast of their Red Dead Redemption pre-sequel. The cards show off various people that players will get to know and they give us a better idea of their individual personalities and motives.

Rockstar kicked things off with gang leader Dutch van der Linde himself. With an icy stare, wiping blood off a sharp knife and a chastising quote, van der Linde seems like he’ll be a guy you don’t want to double cross in Red Dead Redemption 2. Following van der Linde are other characters that are present in-game such as fellow gang members Hoesa Mathews, Pearson and Micah Bell, while Molly O’Shea, Susan Grimshaw, and more are also shown off on the studio’s timeline.

Rockstar even tweeted a card for the protagonist from the first Red Dead Redemption, John Marston with the quote: “Guess all I got left now is doubts. Doubts and scars.” Arthur Morgan, Red Dead Redemption 2‘s main character, also has a moody picture with his own quote: “We’re thieves, in a world that don’t want us no more.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in the American Frontier in 1899, 12 years before the events of Red Dead Redemption. It will tell the story of Arthur Morgan, the right-hand man of Dutch van der Linde, as the van der Linde gang flee the authorities after a botched robbery in the town of Blackwater. Players must travel across the land as they try to evade federal agents and try to survive in a changing landscape.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release worldwide on Octobr 26, and will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There has been no word of a PC port yet, but we may see one down the line as we did with Grand Theft Auto 5.
