Dark Souls II To Be “More Straightforward And More Understandable”

In case you've been living under a rock, Dark Souls II was announced at the VGAs last week in spectacular fashion. Since its reveal, some gamers have jumped for joy, while others have opted to start up a petition. Meanwhile, the game's director, Tomohiro Shibuya, shared with Edge what changes will be made in the upcoming sequel.

Those who found the original game a bit too difficult to comprehend thanks to a lack of guidance on the game's part, will be pleased to know that the sequel will be "more straightforward and more understandable."

The series' previous director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, was infamous for including so many hidden things that it was virtually impossible for anyone to find them all. However, Shibuya has a slightly different philosophy, saying, "I personally am the sort of person who likes to be more direct than subtle."

What do you think of this new approach? Do you like the severe lack of guidance found in the first Dark Souls? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
